DIY Louis Vuitton Fringe Earrings

Posted Monday October 24, 2011 10:37 AM GMT

Simple, subtle jewelry is so last year. Jewelry trends this season are all about making big, striking statements with glamorous jewelry pieces.

Louis Vuitton designs a pair of long, fringe earrings that are simply ravishing. They add a seductive element to any outfit while keeping the look sophisticated, yet still alluring.

It’s safe to say that the cost of these earrings is a tad out of most peoples’ price rage. So, instead of breaking the bank in the name of fashion, we have a little project that will teach you how to make these earrings yourself.

What you’ll need:
- 11 inches of fringe
- Needle and thread
- Earring posts
- Scissors

How to:
- Cut two 2-inch sections of fringe.
- Take your earring post and push it through the top, weaved portion of your fringe. Push it in about a ½ inch in towards the middle.
- Fold the other end of the fringe over the earring post to cover it.
- Take the needle and thread and sew back and forth over the folded section. Make X shapes around the earring post to make it more secure. Be sure to sew around the raw edges of the fringe that you cut so that not unraveling takes place.
- Trim the bottoms of the earrings to achieve your desired length. The Louis Vuitton earrings are a little longer than collar bone length.
- Repeat for the second earring.

Wear these earrings with your hair up so they get the attention they deserve – and you too!
