It has been a handful of years since he got out of the denim game, but now Peter Koral and his son David are teaming up with workers from his old line Seven For All Mankind.
Kicking off his new Koral Los Angeles ladies line of jeans, Peter told press he’s confident that the industry is ready for him again.
“We feel that the timing couldn’t be better for us to come back into the industry. We don’t really feel that denim is represented in its true form. There are a lot of five-pocket silhouettes out there but they’re not really denim.”
Priced between $150 and $250 per pair, Koral noted that he’s relying on strong relationships with retailers to take the denim world by storm again. “Our [retail] strategy is to sell to every specialty store around the world who were our dear partners in the past. With the amount of sku’s, it’s not a small line.”
Peter also added that he’s learned a lot during his career that will help ensure the success of this new venture. “What we’ve learned from Seven is you need to stay ahead of everybody in order to be successful. When we started at Seven, premium denim didn’t really exist. We brought it forward. Now there are a lot of players in the game. You need to differentiate yourself. We can’t create a three-legged jean to be that different.”
