Last week Yahoo announced that Bobbi Brown would head its new beauty section, and now, the Internet mogul is nabbing another power player to revamp its style division, Joe Zee.
Zee is best known for his work at Elle magazine, where he served as creative director for quite some time. He also became famous for his stint on “The City,” and has his own QVC line. In his new role, Joe will serve as editor in chief and executive creative officer for Yahoo Fashion.
“I have always embraced technology and innovation in everything I do — from making a magazine, to executive producing and hosting my television shows, to writing my books,” Zee said in a statement to press. “So, the chance to combine all of these passions at Yahoo during a period of tremendous innovation and transformation is a dream.”
Yahoo added that they look forward to Zee bringing “his sensibility of luxury fashion and accessible cool to Yahoo every day."
Rumor has it, Yahoo plans to dismantle the struggling “Shine” entity in favor of a more refined lifestyle and entertainment digital magazine. If this new hire is any indication, they’re stacking their cards for success.
