Check It Out: The Best & Worst Dressed Stars of the 2012 Grammys

It's music's biggest night of the year, and at Sunday's (February 12) Grammy Awards show, it was also a night for tone-talented celebs to show off their own personal style.

Fashionably speaking, some artists were hitting all the right notes with their stunningly creative, yet glamorous ensembles. Unfortunately, some A-listers fell totally flat with their questionable (no, really, like what were they thinking?) red carpet choices.

We’ve put together a list of our favorite ‘best dressed’ celebs as well as a list of a few looks we could have done without. Read on to see our choices!

Best Dressed –
Rihanna: Looking like the stunning-songstress that she is, Rihanna looked absolutely breathtaking in this Giorgio Armani plunging gown equipped with an open back and sky-high slit. She paired the look with Christian Louboutin pumps and Neil Lane jewels. The new svelte frame she was flaunting was an amazing new look for her as well!

Fergie: The structure and silhouette of this beautifully crafted lace Jean Paul Gaultier gown was very flattering on Fergie. However, the undergarments she chose to feature underneath were a bit strange. Still, she rocked the look and that orange hue was absolutely gorgeous on her!

Carrie Underwood: Country’s golden girl looked sleek and sophisticated in a sparkly long-sleeve backless Gomez-Gracia gown. Underwood paired her stunning ensemble with gorgeous drop-earrings and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Katy Perry: Matching your outfit to your mood, Miss Perry? While the “Firework” hit maker may be feeling a little blue these days, she’s truly making it work for her in a fashion sense. The light blue Ellie Saab gown she donned was extremely figure flattering on her and had her looking all things pop-princess royalty.

Taylor Swift: Country darling, Taylor Swift, looked quite grown up in this beautiful Zuhair Murad number. "It's one of my favorite dresses I've ever gotten to wear!" Swift said of her red carpet look. She also ditched her signature curly locks for sleek, straight hair at last night’s award show.

Adele: Adele truly ‘had it all’ on the red carpet last night with her floor length sparkly black custom-made Giorgio Armani gown paired with equally sparkly Christian Louboutin pumps. Her best accessory of the night? The six, we repeat SIX, Grammys she had in tow by the end of the evening.

Miranda Lambert: The lovely Mrs. Shelton looked lovely in a floor-length, nude-colored lace cap sleeve gown. She paired her old-Hollywood looks with jewels from Tiffany & Co..

Hilary Scott: Lady Antebellum’s leading lady snagged her Best Country Album Grammy in a sexy dip-dye fuschia-and-black Monique Lhuillier gown. She paired her flowy ensemble with a Killian for Gray Gallery clutch and stunning Sutra earrings.

Jessie J: The ‘Domino’ hit maker traded in her whimsical wardrobe for an incredibly refined and totally striking metallic Julien Macdonald dress. We loved seeing Jesse J in something a little more glamorous. It worked well for her!

Worst Dressed -
Nicki Mianj: We’re not sure what’s worse – the Pope look-a-like she chose to tote around as an accessory, or her obnoxious red Versace cloak. This look did absolutely nothing for her – even is she was channeling her alter-ego, Roman, last night.

Snooki: With the new bod that she’s sporting these days, Snooki should have gone with something a little less predictable than her normal, and quite odd, cheap-y getups. Just looking at this dress hurts our eyes, literally.

Anne V: If we had a body like her, we’d want to show it off too. However, her gorgeous supermodel looks won’t save her from our worst dressed list! This frock looked more like a bathing suit cover up rather than red carpet attire. It left little to the imagination and even though we’re sure her hot beau, Adam Levine loved it, we give it an F.

Lady Gaga: We’ve all come to expect very unorthodox fashions from Gaga and low and behold, she debuted yet another odd look last night. While the futuristic black dress she wore yes a little more toned down than her previous fashion choices, it was the lace facemask and gold scepter that left us shaking our heads.
