Michael Kors Makes Its Way to NYFW
Michael Kors debuted his namesake's fall 2012 collection at The Theatre at Lincoln Center earlier this morning (February 15) during New York Fashion Week.
Kors’ show proved that although we’re in the home stretch of fashion week, things are all but slowing down. His big and bold designs entranced spectators in the crowd, gaining favor with celebs such as Jessica Alba, Debra Messing, Amber Heard, Stacy Keibler and Paula Patton. Style maven’s Rachel Zoe and Brad Goreski (Alba's stylist) were also in the house – managing to take in the show without any awkward run-ins.
The design label started the show with cozy knits and classy tweeds. Checkered patterns were also present throughout the majority of the collection as were chunky fur slash collars on over-sized outerwear.
The eveningwear that soon followed was simply exquisite. Inspired by looks from the 1920s and 30s, models sashayed down the catwalk in gowns that exuded a sexy, yet classy, timeless feel. Our favorite look from the collection was a floor-length, sleeveless silver metallic gown with sheer detailing from the waist down.
