Playing off the power woman in today’s day and age, Raff Simmons wanted to, “present women with freedom and possibilities in the way they dress,” for his Fall 2014 collection. While it’s an ambitious feat, if anyone’s up to the task, it’s the designer of Dior.

The show opened with a strong lineup of overcoats — some featuring short-sleeves — paired over tailored dresses and pantsuits. The signature lean pants Simmon’s has been designing since 1947 of course made an appearance, followed by a slew of frocks that are daringly short and statement-making for the office.

Greys and blacks dominated the collection, but were swiftly rescued by bright pops of red, pink, coral, green and canary yellow. Coats even appeared in the color scheme, with a trio of mink options taking the center-stage.

Evening gowns were not the focus, though a series of sheer embellished floor-length gowns showed off some serious attitude. The real visionaries were his shorter frocks, which were crafted to perfection with enchanting silhouettes and luxe fabrics.

Personally, we’d feel ready to take on the world wearing anything from the collection, but click through the gallery below to decide for yourself.
