Raf Simons Reveals Christian Dior's Latest Couture Collection at PFW
Getting a sneak peek of the hottest runway trends for this fall and winter, fashion house Christian Dior debuted its Haute-Couture collection as part of Paris Fashion Week Fall / Winter 2013 in Paris, France on Tuesday (July 2).
Proving to be a petal-pushing season ahead, the luxury brand revealed a flower-inspired offering, with everything from the walls to the frocks being lined with the blooms of every color.
Dresses played a major part of the Raf Simons-led range, as structured skirts, tea-length made their way down the runway several times. In addition, Dior's classic suit was on display, playing up a womanly hourglass silhouette with nipped waist and flared bottom.
Of his debut collection for the house, Simons told press, “I wanted it to be linked to the codes of Christian Dior — but to make it dynamic, modern, energetic. I'm not interested in just doing couture that works in magazine pictures. I want it to be relevant"
Among attendees of the swanky show were "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence as well as actress Marion Coutillard, who has fronted several ads for the brand.
