DIY Alexander Wang Cutout Sweater
Who said you have to sacrifice style for warmth? The Alexander Wang Cutout Sweater gives you the best of both worlds!
Wang put a creative twist on the classic wool sweater with these trendy, sheer cutouts. Meaning, you can stay toasty this season while still looking incredibly chic.
This sweater retails for about $600! You can create this look easily at home though, and can experiment with different sheer-covered patterns you’d like to implement into the sweater.
What you’ll need:
- A wool sweater. (A thick, knit texture works best)
- 1-2 yards of sheer fabric (Depending on how many cut outs you do)
- Needle and thread (Color of your sweater)
- Scissors
- Pencil
How to:
- Turn your sweater inside out.
- Now, decide what kind of pattern you’d like to cut into the sweater.
- You can either draw the patterns with your pencil or you can cut them free hand with your scissors.
- Now cut pieces of the sheer fabric that are large enough to cover the holes you just cut into the sweater.
- Sew the sheer fabric on top of each hole.
- When you’re done sewing on the sheer fabric, cut off any access fabric with your scissors.
- Once all sheer fabric has been sewed on, flip your sweater back out.
Pair this sweater with some black leggings, and some cute booties for a hot new fall look!
*Tip: Do not machine wash this sweater!
