Timeless Trends: Vintage Fashions Make a Fierce Comeback
Take note, fashionistas! Vintage styles are back and are trendier than ever! Looks inspired by the 40’s all the way through the 70’s have made a fierce mark on the fashion industry – ruling the catwalks during fashion week and now dominating our closets as well.
To be considered ‘vintage’, an item must be between 20 and 50 years old. Noted designers have created looks inspired by the best of the best as far as vintage style pieces are concerned. So, while their clothes and accessories themselves may not truly be vintage, the inspiration behind the design certainly is. However, some designers create pieces made from vintage fabrics, which would then deem their designs, in fact, as vintage.
We love the looks from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s because of their feminine flare and girly details and designs. Shows like ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Pan AM’ have truly restored the public’s love for that era of clothing and have made these fashions totally swoon-worthy. Dainty dresses and lovely accessories make up these timeless trends. We bet if you raided grandma’s closet or jewelry box, you may find a few things to wear!
Looks from the 70’s are loved for their chic hipster styles and can be seen worn by the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kristin Cavallari – both that love the high-waisted pant. The platform sandal is also a staple look of this era and is the floppy hat and fringed tops.
We’ve pulled together an array of vintage style clothing and accessories, all inspired by one decade or another from the 40s throughout the 70’s. Each and every one of these pieces lends a touch of timeless class and sophistication to any outfit – proving that some things never go out of style.
