14 Young-Hollywood Style Stars to Watch in the New Year

Ladies like Kim Kardashian, Kate Middleton and Kerry Washington (Vogue's Best Dressed Woman of 2013) ruled the style scene last year. Each gal showing us a thing or two about owning one's individual look and never making apologies for displaying a creative sartorial palette … okay maybe we still haven't forgiven Kim for her Met Gala dress, but we're working on it.
While their uber-famous likenesses graced a slew of best-dressed lists throughout 2013, there is a select group of teens and twenty-somethings carving out a name for themselves as style hierarchy. These girls will undoubtedly be forces to be reckoned with in the new year … just you wait and see.
Read on to see our picks:
Miley Cyrus, (21): You can love to hate her, or hate to love her; but there’s no denying this superstar will be the one to watch in 2014. Her past getups (or lack thereof) sent shockwaves down the spines of spectators everywhere, and there’s no telling the kind of statements Miley is capable of making this time around. We’re willing to bet she’ll try to outdo herself.
Kendall (18) and Kylie Jenner (16): These girls may be the royals of reality television, but that hasn’t stopped them from creating a name for themselves in the fashion realm all on their own! Each one possesses their own individual style — one that always seems to flawlessly complement the other.
Jennifer Lawrence, (23): “The Hunger Games” actress’ look has matured majorly over the past few months, especially after chopping off her famous locks late in the year. If we’ve learned one thing though, it’s that Lawrence could go bald and still look incredible. Sure, she’s got a face most women would kill for, but the style maven knows how to make everything she wears look ready (and worthy) of a high-profile affair.
Kate Upton, (21): The blonde bombshell was named 2013’s Model of the Year, but it’s her keen sense of style that’s landed her a spot on our list. Upton’s look has evolved from a bikini-clad beach bunny (doing the Dougie) to that of an ultra-sophisticated red carpet regular.
AnnaSophia Robb, (20): If you’re playing the biggest fashionista in television history, then you better effortlessly fit the bill, and there's no doubt Robb’s style senses helped land her “The Carrie Diaries” gig. We can’t wait to see what this rising star does in 2014!
Taylor Swift, (24): The style realm took note of the country crooner’s fashion evolution this past year most notably during award season. Her red carpet tastes changed from flirty, printed skater dresses to jaw-dropping, sequin gowns. Her casual silhouettes boast more flare to them as well, and we love her willingness to experiment with new trends — a girl after our own heart!
Cara Delevingne, (21): YSL’s poster girl is one of the most versatile models in the industry — making her quite the style chameleon … one of the many things we love about her. The British super rocks a designer dress just as well as she does a pair of chucks and cutoffs. We love her carefree-approach to fashion, and think people everywhere could learn a thing or two from her.
Shailene Woodley, (22): She may look like the girl next door, but there is nothing homey about this star’s style. For a girl in her early 20’s, Woodley shows extreme poise and perfection in everything she dons. Her sartorial skills are surely something to take note of!
Lily Collins, (24): All eyes are on the brunette beauty, as she’s recently landed Lancôme’s “French Ballerine” Spring 2014 campaign. With such a high profile gig at hand, Collins will have to maintain the ultra-feminine persona we’ve all come to know and love. And those eye brows … seriously; some girls have all the luck.
Emma Watson, (23): We first noticed Watson’s impressive fashion sense at the premiere for the final installment of the “Harry Potter” films. The star reinvented herself thanks to a newly chopped coif and a gown that would make Hermione blush. Since then, she’s continuously been pictured in pieces we could only dream of getting our hands on.
Allison Williams, (26): She made our heads turn on the 65th Emmy Awards red carpet in a stunning, strapless cobalt gown, and the “Girls” star hasn’t disappointed us since! We’re setting our sartorial radars directly on this up-and-comer.
Rita Ora, (23): The British singer/songwriter/actress has been snapped in pictures hanging out (casually, we might add) with the legendary Karl Lagerfeld. If that doesn’t justify a spot on this list, then we’re not sure what does.
Chloë Grace Moretz, (16): This is another actress we’ve seen grow up before our eyes. Gone are the days of gaudy florals and headbands. Moretz has become the red carpet poster child—constantly turning heads in trendy, yet tasteful pieces … and she’s only 16! We can’t wait to follow this star throughout her entire career.
