With the long-awaited days of spring and summer quickly approaching, it’s time to pick out some stylish shades to rock during each of these sun-filled seasons.

But wait! Before you venture out to the mall to pick out any ol’ pair of shades, there is one thing to keep in mind while choosing them – facial shape.

The shape of your kisser can make or break how a pair of this particular accessory looks. While choosing, you want to be sure that they are a complimentary, by flattering all of your natural features tastefully. So, read on to see which category you fall into and hopefully, you’ll be able to successfully choose the perfect pair of specs for summer!

If you have a triangle-shaped face (broad forehead with narrow chin) –
Opt for a pair of sunglasses that are more angular in nature. Upward-pointing or square frames are perfect since they are both more structured, providing the perfect balance for your face.

If you have an oval-shaped face (long face) –
You’re lucky, because you can pull off the majority of styles. However, over-sized sunglasses look the best. Their larger frames help to balance out your elongated facial features. Aviators are also a good go-to style since they tend to lean on the over-sized side themselves.

If you have a round-shaped face (Space from forehead to chin is equivalent to the space between your ears) –
Anything too round will not flatter your face. Instead pick something like the cat eye or a pair that are rectangular-like and wide. This type of style will offset the roundness of your face, creating more structure.

If you have a square-shaped face –
Steer clear of angular shades. Instead, choose a pair of rounded frames to compliment your angles. Their roundness will aid in creating a more feng shui look for your face.
