Saying ‘so long’ to his six-year tenure with Tod’s, Derek Lam has parted ways with the Italian leather goods label.
According to a report, Lam’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection for Tod’s was his final contribution to the fashion house, and he’s off to greener pastures.
Derek began working with Tod’s back in 2005 when he was asked to conceptualize a capsule collection of sportswear for their Spring 2006 lineup, inspired by Diego Della Valle’s motor yacht “The Marlin.”
Since then he was made creative director and has consistently put out top-notch collections. Lam’s departure seems to breathe new life into rumors that John Galliano is up for a position at Tod’s.
