Red Carpet Report: Best & Worst Dressed at 2012 CFDA Awards
It boasts one of the most stylish sets on the globe, and last night (June 4) celebs and industry icons alike gathered to celebrate the 2012 CFDA Awards in New York City.
Held at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, the swanky evening event gave way to several outstanding ensembles - as well as a few less-than-red-carpet-worthy getups.
Below is our list of the night's best and worst dressed attendees at the 2012 CFDA Awards, be sure to browse through!
Best Dressed:
Zoe Saldana: “The “Avatar” babe looked lovely as she walked the red carpet in a slinky, plunging black dress with mesh cut-outs on the arm of Prabal Gurung. Hands down, one of our favorite looks of the night, Miss Saldana’s gown was sexy and sultry, yet completely sleek and refined!
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen: The uber-fashionable duo (who also won the award for Womenswear Designer of the Year) donned looks from their award winning design label, The Row. Ashley looked stunning in a floor-length silk magenta gown, while Mark-Kate took the more dramatic route, wearing an all black two-piece ensemble.
Mandy Moore: The “Tangled” star looked oh, so statuesque in a creamy Lea Rose Grecian-style gown equipped with embellished shoulders. She also sported a sexy pink pout (which we loved!) and sleek high ponytail that kept her looking simply dynamite all evening long.
Sophia Bush: Whoa, what a fashion comeback! The “One Tree Hill” hottie sent everyone on the red carpet a buzz with her stunning custom-made tangerine David Meister dress. With the leggy getup, Bush wore metallic color-blocked heels and swanky gold jewelry to top off her bold, beautiful look!
Lily Collins: The brunette beauty struck fashion gold in this metallic Marchesa mini dress paired with matching pointed-toe gold pumps. We loved her minimal jewelry and sleek high bun, which showed off her sultry eye makeup.
Julianne Hough: The blonde haired, blue eyed beauty looked smashing in a red hot Kaufmanfranco frock that had an incredible plunging neckline. Completed with swanky drop earrings and a simple updo, this “Rock of Ages” starlet looked drop dead gorgeous.
Selita Ebanks: The leggy supermodel made everyone’s jaws drop in a striking white, form-fitting Herve Leger by Max Azria gown with metallic inserts paired with a matching clutch. The brunette stunner wore fabulous drop earring and left her locks long and flowy, which complimented her mega-glam getup perfectly.
Worst Dressed:
Kate Bosworth: Usually one to land the ‘Best Dressed’ list, Bosworth fell short of fashion glory in an embellished Joseph Altuzarra cutout frock. Her bod looked fabulous, but the dress was just a little too busy for us.
Dakota Fanning: Hollywood’s darling missed the mark last night as she wore a Chinese-inspired Proenza Schouler wrap dress. The frock gave her frame absolutely no shape, which left her looking boxy and uncomfortable.
Jessica Chastain: Tinsletown’s hottest fiery red-head looked should have opted for something a little more daring and sexy to show off her womanhood! Her flirty Pragal Gurung dress would have been more fitting had it been worn by a younger Hollywood starlet.
Doutzen Kroes: The Sophie Theallet dress? Beautiful. The blonde stunner wore the long halter gown to perfection. However, the choker is another story. It totally threw off the entire outfit and caused her to lose major points in our fashion book.
Heather Graham: The “Hangover” babe looked totally under dressed for the swanky soiree. While we loved the periwinkle color, the Marchesa frock itself was rather lackluster and not impressive at all.
Candice Swanepoel: The sexy supermodel can’t win this one with her good looks and charm. The lavender lace dress she chose to wear was not only completely see through, but also kept reminding us of a frumpy Easter frock.
Karolina Kurkova: What was she thinking? We loved the Erickson Beamon statement necklace she paired with her outfit, but the dress was all wrong. The print was very unflattering on her bod and left her looking awkward and dowdy.
