Vacation Style Guide: Looks We Love for a Warm Weather Retreat
So you’re going on a lil’ beach vacay huh? Lucky!
A little R&R in an exotic location surrounded by sandy shores, luxe shops and delish restaurants sounds dy-no-mite.
However, before you can make your way to paradise, you must tackle one thing – the dreaded packing list.
Large and overwhelming, this particular tabulation of things to take along can make the vacation prep a little less enjoyable. However, in order to help speed things along, we’ve put together five outfits you’ll undoubtedly need for your trip!
Happy packing!
A Beach-Worthy Getup: While you’re on vacation, go all out with your swimwear attire. We’re talking swanky floppy hat, sexy swimsuit, trendy cover up, luxe-looking beach bag – the works! Why not? Who said you couldn’t look like a total beach goddess while away? For shoes, we suggest sticking to flats just so that you can slip them on and off easily for when you need to make a run to the eatery on the docks for lunch!
Romantic Dinner Date: If your guy is swooping you away to a romantic dinner date on the docks overlooking the water one night, then you’ll want to dress to impress! One fabric we love for any summertime getaway is crochet. It’s still beachy, yet totally romantic – did we mention how comfy it is? Be sure to bring a lightweight jacket or blazer just in case there is a breeze coming off the water. Pair your outfit with some chunky heels or pumps and you’ll have him wrapped around your finger all night long!
Midday Excursion or Hike: If your temporary paradise has some local trails and hiking opportunities nearby, take ‘em! The scenery in such places are truly breathtaking. However, be sure to dress appropriately or else your excursion could turn into a total bust. So, we suggest rocking a pair of comfy (yet trendy) walking shoes, a basic T and shorts. Don’t forget get wear a bikini underneath in case you run across any secret pool/ponds! We like the backpack option for all your goods, that way your arms are free to explore your surroundings!
Retail Romp/Lunch in City: Exploring all the local shops and eateries in an exotic location is a no-brainer. So, for an afternoon of boutiques galore, we suggest rocking a feminine day dress. A girly frock is nice because it’s easy to put on and take off quickly when you’re trying on all those nice new clothes you’re going to buy (duh.) As for footwear – flats or wedges – it’s your personal preference. It depends on which style you’re more comfortable in - they’re both cute! We also suggest leaving your large carryall in your room and opting for a small chain-strap purse – anything with a strap really, that way it sticks close to your body. When you’re in an unfamiliar city, the goal is to not scream tourist. A huge bag spewing maps, cameras and whatever else you stash would do just that. Just bring the essentials (phone, money, IDs) and you’ll be golden!
Homeward Bound Outfit: We like to travel in style and comfort. So, other than rocking our new sun goddess glow of course, we like to wear black yoga pants for bottoms because even though they’re uber-casual, they look totally chic. Paired with a sleek white top and a trendy jean jacket you’ll be one high-flying stylista! Again, stick with comfy shoes because you never know if you’re going to have to sprint through the airport to catch a connecting flight – trust us, that run in heels is NOT fun. For a carry on, we usually utilize an over-sized purse like this one from YSL, which is to-die-for by the way.
