Just when you thought the bandage dress couldn’t get any better, it did. At NYFW, Max and Lubov Azria of Herve Leger debuted eye-catching prints and intricate details that gave the signature dress a subtle — yet stunning — update.
The new collection featured longer lengths for more modesty, new prints, full-length back zippers and a few separate options. Most ensembles incorporated patterns and accessories that accentuated the models’ waists, which was a spectacular addition to a dress that already complements the female body beautifully.
All 26 models were decorated to look as though they just jumped off a motorbike, whipped their hair back and ran to the beach. “It’s the hair that everybody dreams of having,” said Laurent Philippon, lead hairstylist of Bumble and Bumble. He achieved the style by using a basic large curling iron, “but not in the traditional way,” he said. Instead, Philippon loosely worked the iron through the hair, giving it a natural texture.
As for the makeup, Sephora Pro Val Garland created a perfectly bronzed and illuminated face with a nude eye and lip amidst a sun-kissed complexion. Think “a colorful young girl,” said Garland. The main products used were “lots of bronzer across the complexion and eyes, lots of highlighter, and a beautiful sexy beige lip.” Using a slightly metallic, semi-sheer nude lipstick, (Garland likes Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick in Honeymoon) enhances lips natural color, adds Garland.
