He had a lot to prove with his first show for Louis Vuitton, and Nicolas Ghesquière definitely brought his A-game to Paris Fashion Week Fall 2014.
Taking over the courtyard at the Louvre, the man who picked up where Marc Jacobs left off showed his designing chops with a remarkable collection.
Flavored with a late-1970s/early 1980s vibe, Ghesquière featured a black patent leather coat, tweed empire waist dress, and plenty of rich textures and luxurious fabrics.
Vuitton’s show notes explained, “This familiar wardrobe appeals to the collection unconscious, stirring our affective memory. We never tire of these perennial pieces.”
