Marisa Berenson was once one of the highest paid models in the world. Back in the 70s she graced the covers of Vogue and Time magazine, and appeared in a number of fashion spreads and films.
Her latest claim to fame is being the source of inspiration for Valentino's creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli Resort 2013 collection.
WWD reported that the designers’ imagined Berenson’s own personal style combined with “her boarding school years” to create the line. The results? Military and school uniforms mixed with a touch of Berenson’s iconic bohemian taste. The goal was to use these opposing trends “to create an unconventional sense of elegance,” said Piccioli.
The range is a fine blend of sophisticated evening gowns featuring silk tulle and long-sleeves, along with school girl-inspired daytime looks such as an eclectic pair of cropped silk Mikado pants. Click through the slides to see the entire uncanny collection.
